Avidia Charitable Foundation Donates $2,000 to Community Legal Aid


The Avidia Charitable Foundation recently donated $2,000 to Community Legal Aid located in Worcester, MA.  Presenting the check from L-R: Gargi Dutta Roy, Shrewsbury Assistant Branch Manager of Avidia Bank; Jonathan L. Mannina, Esq., of Community Legal Aid; Stephanie Luz, Shrewsbury AVP Market Manager of Avidia Bank. This donation is for interpretation and translation expenses.


Avidia Bank is a $1.2 billion mutual community bank, headquartered in Hudson, with branches in Hudson, Westborough, Clinton, Leominster, Marlborough, Northborough and Shrewsbury.


Community Legal Aid and Mintz Levin Receive Groundbreaking Decision on Constitutional Right to Counsel

The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court issued a decision on May 4, 2016 in which it ruled that indigent parents have a constitutional right to counsel in two circumstances: (1) termination/removal of a guardian; and (2) modification to “substantially chang[e]” the terms of visitation, provided that the parent presents a creditable claim for either circumstance.
