Steve joined Community Legal Aid as its Development Director in 2013. Steve leads CLA’s fundraising efforts, engaging with citizens, corporations and foundations throughout central and western Massachusetts who believe in a fair and open justice system for all.

He previously worked in various capacities for Meds & Food for Kids, an organization dedicated to saving the lives of malnourished children and supporting economic and agricultural development in Haiti. As Director of Development (2010 – 2011) in the USA, he oversaw annual and capital campaigns, raising over $3 million towards new facilities in Haiti; and as Program Manager (2009 – 2010) in Haiti, he oversaw MFK’s in-country operations then emergency relief efforts after the devastating earthquake in 2010.

Steve honed his skills as a passionate advocate for social justice at the Brown School of Social Work in St. Louis, where he pursued a Masters in Social Work, specializing in evidence-based practice and international development.

Steve’s first career was in arts management. With degrees in music history and literature, he has managed orchestra tours in Europe, and concert series in St. Louis (US), Paris (France) and London (UK). A native of England, he lived and worked in Russia and France before moving to the USA in 2003.
