Andrea Carrillo joined Community Legal Aid in 2014 as part of a foreclosure defense team funded by the Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General. Before joining CLA, Andrea served as a research assistant at the Bellow-Sacks Access to Civil Legal Services Project at Harvard Law School and served as a volunteer attorney for Community Legal Aid and Counseling Center where she represented a foreign-born victim of domestic violence in removal proceedings to obtain asylum. Andrea also served as a Boston University (BU) Law Public Service Fellow at Greater Boston Legal Services where she focused on consumer protection issues, bankruptcy, and foreclosure defense and was involved in representing clients at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. At BU Law School, Andrea was a member of the Public Interest Law Journal and served on the executive board of the Public Interest Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to fundraising to provide law students with grants to fund public interest summer internships. Andrea is fluent in Spanish. She is licensed to practice in Massachusetts.
