After graduating from the University of Michigan Law School, Jena represented unaccompanied minors as a staff attorney/pro bono coordinator at the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project in Phoenix, AZ. Before coming to Community Legal Aid, she managed an extensive pro bono program at Kids in Need of Defense-Boston, and represented unaccompanied minors and other immigrant survivors of violence and persecution as a staff attorney at Ascentria Care Alliance in Worcester, MA. During law school, Jena was very involved in the public interest community, served as a student attorney in the Pediatric Advocacy Clinic, completed several legal services internships, served as a mentor to students serving public interest careers, and was a Bergstrom Child Welfare Law Fellow in 2010. Prior to law school, Jena proudly served as an MLASSP AmeriCorps volunteer at Casa Myrna Vasquez, where she advocated for survivors of partner violence.
