2015 Walk to the Hill

Each year, hundreds of attorneys participate in one of the largest lobbying days at the Massachusetts State House called Walk to the Hill. The goal is to protect state funding for programs that provide civil legal aid to low-income Massachusetts residents. This year, on January 28, 2016, Community Legal Aid staff had 33 meetings with lawmakers and their staff to discuss funding for legal aid in the 2017 budget and the amazing work we do at CLA. Everyone felt very fortunate that we had the opportunity to explain the importance of our work. We will continue to follow-up with lawmakers in the next few weeks to ensure that state funding for legal aid is protected.
