Lawyers Honored
WORCESTER — Two Worcester lawyers are among seven law firms and lawyers to be honored by the Massachusetts Bar Association for providing free legal services to the public. Faye Rachlin of East Hartford, Conn., a lawyer with Legal Assistance Corp. of Central Massachusetts, will be recognized with the Legal Services Award. Thomas A. Manning of Spencer will receive the Pro Bono Publico Award. Both will be honored at a March 6 Access to Justice awards luncheon in Boston dedicated to the late Nancy King, who will posthumously receive the MBAĆs lifetime achievement award. Ms. King was the former executive director of the South Middlesex Legal Services in Framingham. Ms. Rachlin will be recognized for 22 years as an advocate for the indigent, including assisting tenants coping with mental illness and addiction. Mr. Manning, a lawyer in private practice, will be cited for his time, energy and wisdom assisting clients on a pro bono, or unpaid, basis.
