New Training Opportunity!
Education Law Training
|
Community Legal Aid received a two-year grant from the Legal Services Corporation to build a medical-legal partnership with UMass Memorial Health Care. The partnership will provide legal services to low-income patients who are receiving care through an innovative new primary care model being implemented at three primary care sites at UMass Memorial Medical Center, which serve a high number of Medicaid patients. We are reaching out to community partners and advocates who may be interested in joining this initiative.
Social and economic factors, including education, greatly impact the health of low-income, minority and other marginalized communities and interfere with clinical providers’ ability to effectively and efficiently improve the health of their most vulnerable patients. Through the partnership, clinical providers who have been trained to screen for health-harming legal issues will refer families to Community Legal Aid. We invite you, a private bar attorney, to join us in addressing the health-harming legal needs of our youth by taking on a special education case.
