Esther D. Tutu
Staff Attorney, Civil Legal Aid for Victims of Crime Initiative
Before joining Community Legal Aid, Esther worked as an Admissions Recruiter for the University of Connecticut School of Law. During law school, Esther focused on public interest law and earned a Human Rights Certificate with her Juris Doctor. She was a student teacher of Street Law at New Britain High School and vice president of UCONN School of Law’s Black Law Students Association. Esther interned with the U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement’s Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch, and the Connecticut Fair Housing Center. She also interned with the Honorable Judge Shreeves-Johns in Philadelphia, PA while attending Temple University.
Esther is currently a board member of ImmaCare Inc., an agency dedicated to eliminating homelessness.
