J Swanger

Legal Advocate, CORI/Re-Entry Project

After graduating from the University of Utah with degrees in English and International Studies, J worked at “the U” as a coordinator of social justice education and community engagement programming. Following this experience and seeking to add the law to their metaphorical social justice toolbelt, J enrolled at Boston College Law School, where he received his J.D. as well as his M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy. During law school, J served as the Co-President of the Public Interest Law Foundation, was a staff writer and senior editor on the law review, participated in the Civil Rights Clinic, and interned with public defenders in Boston and at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. J graduated with honors from BC Law as a Public Interest Fellow and received the Aviam Soifer Award for Public Service Achievement & Leadership, the Drinan Award for Commitment to Public Service, and an SJC Certificate of Pro Bono Excellence.
