Bex Bernocco

Staff Attorney, Medical-Legal Partnership

Bex joined Community Legal Aid in 2019 as the Springfield office’s first Medical-Legal Partnership (MLP) attorney. At the start of the pandemic, Bex assisted clients with unemployment insurance benefits, before moving to the Housing Law Unit as part of the Commonwealth’s COVID Eviction Legal Help Project. In March 2022, Bex returned to work as an MLP attorney, partnering with the Commonwealth Care Alliance to assist their patients with health-harming legal needs. Bex was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2006, the Connecticut Bar in 2007, has worked as a public defender in both Massachusetts and Connecticut, and as a Social Security Disability Benefits advocate.

They enjoy officiating roller derby in their spare time.
