Pro Bono Spotlight: Attorney Rhonda Bachrach
Attorney Rhonda L. Bachrach is a 2019 recipient of the prestigious Adams Pro Bono and Publico Award and a 2021 recipient of Community Legal Aid’s (CLA) 70th Anniversary Pro Bono Award. Attorney Rhonda Bachrach has demonstrated a strong commitment to pro bono public service on behalf of Worcester County’s most vulnerable residents. Since 2018, she has donated over 300 hours of pro bono work in virtually all of CLA’s Worcester-based pro bono projects, including the Lawyer for the Day programs in the District and Probate and Family Courts. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Attorney Bachrach has continued to accept referrals in various areas, and has offered her support to ensure access to justice for clients during these challenging times.
Attorney Bachrach graduated from the University of Phoenix, Cum Laude, in 2011, and graduated from the Massachusetts School of Law, Cum Laude, in 2014. Attorney Bachrach began her legal career as a legal assistant in 1995 and began working as a paralegal, specializing in all forms of litigation and corporate law in 2003. In 2007, she joined her husband’s law practice, The Law Office of Barry A. Bachrach, which later became Bachrach & Bachrach when she obtained her J.D. and was sworn in.
Clients praise Attorney Bachrach for her calm and empathetic manner, and her affinity to go above and beyond to ensure quality legal representation for all of her clients. Attorney Bachrach considers pro bono work essential to upholding access to justice in her community, despite a client’s inability to pay.
When describing the importance of pro bono work, Attorney Bachrach explains:
“I have been volunteering for Community Legal Aid (CLA) for approximately six years, and intend on continuing until I retire from the law. Seeing those in need firsthand, and the plight that many find themselves in through no fault of their own, has not only encouraged me to volunteer my own time, but has also made me vocal to my colleagues in asking them to do the same. After all, although CLA reaches approximately 41% of all cities and towns throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, there are many people who need such services but are turned away for lack of volunteers or funding. Having legal representation when in need should not be a luxury, but rather a necessity. I would encourage all Massachusetts attorneys not already involved with CLA to do so. I promise you this, the experience is far more rewarding than you can imagine.”
Attorney Bachrach exemplifies passion, dedication, and professionalism in all of her volunteer work, and we are grateful for her continued support.
