Sarah’s Story

Our expanded presence in northern Worcester County is enabling us to help local residents like “Sarah,” who came to CLA disillusioned and without any trust in the court process. For four years, Sarah was forced to share legal and physical custody with the father of her child who had been abusive toward her. A CLA advocate succeeded in modifying the existing custody and parenting order. Sarah was granted sole legal and physical custody of the child, with contact between the father and child allowed only when he provides proof of completion of a court-required anger management program. Following the hearing, Sarah thanked her CLA lawyer for “restoring [her] faith” in the legal system.
