Springfield attorneys honored for pro bono work at Senior Partners for Justice Event

Springfield attorneys Helena Friedman, Marie Jablonski and Shelia Mulholland and West Springfield attorney Mary Samberg were all honored for their long-time outstanding work at an Oct. 14 Senior Partners for Justice- West Volunteer Appreciation event.

Senior Partners for Justice-West and Community Legal Aid recruit lawyers to represent individuals who cannot afford attorneys to be volunteer conciliators in family law cases.

Senior Partners for justice was founded in 2002 by Judge Edward Ginsburg on his retirement as a probate and family court judge, and was expanded to Western Massachusetts in 2007. Judge Ginsburg, who turned 89 this month, still oversees the program. He said of this year’s awardees:

“For people without access to legal assistance, the promise of justice rings hollow. These four lawyers have for many years given of their knowledge and time to make justice real for low-income clients and deserve this recognition.”
