Western Mass. Veterans Stand Down event connects veterans with range of resources

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Hundreds of western Massachusetts veterans took advantage of a range of services Friday at the Greek Cultural Center in Springfield.

It was all part of the Western Mass. Veterans Stand Down. The Bilingual Veterans Outreach Centers sponsored the event.

The cultural center was one-stop shopping for everything from winter clothing to advice on veterans benefits.

I came here, there was just a lot of stuff for veterans and people in the military. A lot of information I didn’t even know about what I was qualified for, a good thing to check it out.

The “Stand down” services for the visiting veterans included information about VA health care benefits, getting a Flu shot and legal advice.
