Jennifer had previously worked in mortgage sales for big banks and lenders and as a realtor while raising two children on her own. After years of witnessing bias, racism, and gentrification first hand through this work , she went back to school at night with the goal of spending the rest of her career in public service. She studied with both the Center for Worker Education and Skadden, Arps Honors Program in Legal Studies at the City College of New York and received her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 2020. She has worked in eviction prevention in housing court in Brooklyn, NY and worked as a public defender in Springfield, MA.
