Kayla Baillargeon

Parent Advocate, Family Preservation Project

In 2011 Kayla began studying Computer Information Systems at QCC before temporarily pausing her studies in 2015 to focus on motherhood. In 2020, she resumed her education at Independence University with a focus on obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, specializing in Software and Mobile Application Development. However, her interests shifted towards Human Services, leading her to Southern New Hampshire University in 2021 and eventually to Simmons University in 2022, where she is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work. Kayla’s personal experiences, including the challenging separation and subsequent reunification of her children by the Department of Children and Families, have inspired her to support others navigating the child welfare system. She is passionate about advocating for parental rights and policy reforms to improve the system’s effectiveness.
