Wendy Chen

Immediately before joining Community Legal Aid’s Employment Law Unit, Wendy handled employment discrimination claims and labor disputes as an assistant attorney general for the State of Vermont. After law school, she spent over a decade as a civil litigator in Seattle, Washington, primarily representing workers in employment discrimination and wage and hour claims. After returning to the Northeast, she worked at the Vermont Department of Labor, most recently as an administrative law judge. She subsequently worked as a legal fellow and staff attorney at the Center for Agriculture and Food Systems at Vermont Law and Graduate School. She also served as hearing panel counsel for the Vermont Judiciary’s Professional Responsibility Program. Prior to law school, Wendy was the executive director of a nonprofit civic organization in New York City. She spent many years as a volunteer guardian ad litem and is currently the board vice president of Food Connects, a nonprofit food hub and farm-to-school program.
