Volunteer Spotlight: Attorney Caroline Robillard

Attorney Caroline Robillard is one of Community Legal Aid’s (CLA) most longstanding volunteers and a founding member of CLA’s Worcester District Court Small Claims Lawyer for the Day (LFD) Program. She has contributed in extraordinary ways to CLA’s consumer debt efforts, serving as a steadfast volunteer and generous mentor to CLA staff and other pro bono attorneys.

Attorney Robillard has assisted over 130 clients through the Small Claims LFD program, providing each client with compassionate and high-quality representation. Attorney Robillard understands that many folks appearing in small claims court for unpaid debts hold a tremendous amount of shame, even when accumulating debt is due to circumstances outside of their control such as the death of a spouse, becoming unable to work due to a disability, or facing a medical crisis. Attorney Robillard treats each client with the compassion and dignity that we all deserve, and her clients receive legal representation of the highest caliber.

In addition to direct client work, Attorney Robillard has been instrumental in supporting CLA’s efforts to expand its consumer debt efforts in Worcester County. Most recently, Attorney Robillard co-facilitated a training to recruit more Small Claims LFD volunteers and to encourage others to engage in pro bono services with CLA.

To honor the many ways Attorney Robillard contributes to expanding access to justice, CLA awarded Attorney Robillard the Worcester County Volunteer Appreciation Award at the February 2026 Access to Justice Event, Showing Love, Fighting for Justice. Attorney Robillard brings extensive knowledge, experience, and compassion to her work, and our clients and community have been better served because of her.
