Pro Bono Spotlight: Attorney Kathleen Jackson

Attorney Kathleen Jackson, a graduate of McGill University Law School, has been practicing law in Massachusetts since 2002. After serving as a legal intern for the Norfolk County Public Defenders office, Attorney Jackson’s first job out of law school was as a Superior Court Staff Attorney for the Committee for Public Counsel Services in Berkshire County.

Since 2010, Attorney Jackson has been a solo practitioner in western Massachusetts. The bulk of her practice focuses on representing employees, victims of crime, and tenants who could not otherwise afford an attorney. Additionally, Attorney Jackson has extensive experience helping victims of sexual assault and domestic violence navigate the criminal justice system in a way that leaves them empowered in the face of challenges. Attorney Jackson also has experience in Title IX investigations and representation and criminal law.

As a volunteer attorney with Community Legal Aid, Attorney Jackson has assisted over 70 low-income tenants with housing issues, and recently expanded her pro bono involvement to include family law referrals. With every referral, Attorney Jackson brings a wealth of dedication, compassion, and zealousness to her advocacy.

In her free time, Attorney Jackson paddleboards throughout New England and beyond. Her passions include voting rights and campaign finance reform. Before attending law school, Attorney Jackson served in the United States Peace Corps in Chad, Africa and ran a Bed and Breakfast in New Orleans.
