Pro Bono Spotlight: Attorney Helena S. Friedman

Attorney Helena S. Friedman of Springfield, Massachusetts  has been volunteering for legal services since 1986.  A consistent volunteer for the LAR and Conciliation projects in the Hampden County Probate Court, Attorney Friedman can always be counted on for her dependability and commitment to serving those in need.  Since the pandemic, Attorney Friedman has continued to accept pro bono referrals, and was one of the first volunteers to accept a referral through the remote Hampden County Conciliation Project. In 2007, CLA recognized Attorney Freidman for her pro bono work at the Judicial Seminar for Family Law, and she received the Senior Partners for Justice Gideon’s Trumpet Award in 2014. Since 2014, she has assisted over 50 CLA pro bono litigants in need.

Through her private practice, Attorney Friedman provides non-adversarial alternatives that are in the best interest of the family. She  is a trained collaborative lawyer, mediator, conciliator and litigator. As the child of a Holocaust survivor, Helena has learned directly from her family about the evils in the world and why we need to fight against them. Providing pro bono services to those in need is one small way Helena feels she can help.
